DESCRIPTION: Hamilton, Model 22 lever escapement chronometer deck watch with winding indicator, 21J, 35S, chrome-plated base metal OF original case with screw back, inner snap cuvette, silvered dial with winding indicator at 12, SW-SS with safety pin to release setting (depress pin in order to pull out stem), fully capped lever escapement, mono-metallic balance with Elinvar hairspring, "U.S. Navy - Bu. Ships - 1943" marked mvt, striped pattern nickel damascene, s#2F27429. Watch comes with its inner fitted wooden box with plaque explaining the safety setting procedure and paper label describing ideal timing positions as well as with its outer wooden transportation box with Hamilton plaque and with leather strap and buckle. Also includes a service bulletin issued by the Hamilton Watch Company.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous surfaces, few fine to micro-fine scratches on plates, missing one case screw; nearly flawless dial with very light surface spotting only visible upon close scrutiny; nearly mint hands; case shows hardly any wear, few minuscule pinpoint nicks to band, no dents or dings; crown shows very little wear; plastic crystal with small scuff below center; inner wooden box with some separation to its upper lid at rear left joint, some typical exterior wear, scuffs and scratches, plaque with chip at left side screw position; outer box in fine condition with typical scattered scratches, scrapes and dings, leather strap is present but is frayed, cracked, has evident repair and does not look structurally sound.
